Membership

In 2025 we are changing our membership with FRIENDS and MEMBERS.

If you have already registered on our website you will automatically become a FRIEND.  FRIENDs will have access to our OPEN events held throughout the year which are ideal to find out what the group is about without any commitment, and to see if you child likes the group.  These events are Easter Eggstravaganza at Earlham Park, World Autism Day at Thetford Forrest and our Halloween Spooktacular at Earlham Park.

All current FRIENDS and all new visitors to the website may now purchase MEMBERship for £5 giving them access to all events.   MEMBERs will then have access to all events and be able to accumulate loyalty points when they purchase tickets or help in a volunteer role (either by helping with donations or helping at events).  Loyalty points can then be converted into discount coupons off event tickets.

FRIENDS

If you have a child with neurodiversity, diagnosed or on the pathway, then this group is for you.  We have 3 big events each year which anyone can come along to and find out about the group.

You do have to order a free ticket on the website as we need to know numbers.

MEMBERS

Do you live in Norfolk, is your child neurodiverse (autism, adhd, dyslexia, etc) and over 8?  Then we recommend membership and coming to our events.

Welcome to our group and our loyalty rewards!

As a Member, you will have access to all events and you will earn loyalty points for every £ spent on tickets.

As a group, we fund raise all year long to help subsidise our events.  This means that some events are heavily subsidised while some are not or we can offer small discounts.  To help administer these funds fairly, you can trade your loyalty points for discount coupons off event tickets.

Volunteer Members

If you are able to give your time and skills to the group, then you may be invited to become a volunteer member.

There are many ways in which you can volunteer and help with the group.

HOSTING EVENTS.  You do need to be familiar with the group to do this and a regular attendee.  This is where you will have a list of attendees, ensure everyone arriving has the correct ticket and be a point of contact to the venue.

HELP TO CLEAN UP.  Some events are at venues where we are required to clean up afterwards.  By simply helping to clean up afterwards you will be given loyalty points.

ADMINISTRATION.  We do need help from time to time with administration, this may be contacting charities for funding, booking and organising an event, preparing paperwork for grants etc.  This all helps the group and we welcome any help you are able to offer.

COLLECTING DONATIONS.  We often contact supermarkets for donations as many offer help in the community for which we qualify.  We have a standard letter for you to give to the supermarkets when asking for donations and a list of items that help us greatly, this includes Easter eggs and Christmas selection boxes, crisps and juice, prizes and toys.  This is such an easy thing to do and will earn loyalty points.

OTHER DONATIONS.  We are always grateful for any donations such as unwanted gifts, toys in good condition and tombola prizes.  Anything no matter how big or small is gratefully received and will receive loyalty points.

Fundraising

We are not a charity and we do not receive outside funding.  The running of this group is very costly, with organising events and raising funds whenever we can.  We have lots of opportunities throughout the year to help fund raising - please keep a lookout on our website and facebook page for information.

All events can only be attended by ticketholders.  All tickets purchased are subject to our terms and conditions of sale.  Our terms and conditions of sale are:

All events are subject to the rules, safety rules, terms and conditions of the venue where applicable, it is the parents responsibility to make themselves aware of these.  All events must be attended by the parents or guardians who remain responsible for their child(ren) at all times, Twinkles do not offer any childcare and are at no time responsible for the safety of the children attending.  Parents must, therefore, attend and be responsible for their child(ren) at all times.

It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to ensure they are up to date with all our current policies, safeguarding guidelines and reporting policies - links to these are all available on this page.

As a group providing activities for SEN families, we promote a non-judgemental environment and ask that all parents are mindful and accepting of others and are aware that there will be a mix of abilities and disabilities within the group.  Challenging behaviour can be normal within our group of children, however, it should never impede the enjoyment of activities by others and bad behaviour, aggression, violence, bad language, bullying, intimidation and harassment must be addressed immediately by the parents.  We ask that parents immediately remove their child from a situation if any of the above is displayed by their child and noted by them or by others;  we ask parents to explain to their child why this is not acceptable and they can then ask the host volunteer to help integrate the child back into the activity.  If the child is wrongfully accused, the host volunteer will deal with this in the fairest manner they see possible.

In the unlikely event where the parent does not remove their child and allows them to continue with this behaviour they will be asked to leave the activity and may lose their membership to the group.

It is the parent or guardians responsibility to ensure they have adequate supervision when bringing more than one child, for example if one of your children requires constant supervision, then a second guardian must be present with them to help with the other children.  If a parent is unable to supervise all their children, they may be asked to leave the activity.
